What's new with
PMI? A lot!
New Automated Inventory
Feature Released
(Official Press Release
will be released soon)
January 1, 2007

This
year, Progressive
Microtechnology, Inc., (PMI),
has added a new inventory feature. It includes a Portable Data
Terminal, (“PDT”), which is pre-programmed with
PMI Audit Software and Transfer Utility™
and is accompanied by a roll of 4.00” x 1.00” thermal transfer labels
for labeling your evidence room locations.
This
device allows you to scan a full inventory of your barcoded evidence
or assets regardless where they are located. Once all the items
and their locations have been scanned, your attach the PDT to your
computer, upload the scanned information and create a variance report.
There are two different variance reports, however, the basic report will
detail every item that
should be in your database, every item scanned and whether the items are
present, missing, not in database (scanned on shelf but not entered in
database), or variance (usually typographical error). This new
device and software will allow you to complete a full inventory of your
evidence or assets in hours, not days.*
In
addition to the PDT, PMI is also including more characters to its victim
and suspect lines, as well as, the ability to print shelf labels based
on the Evidence Room Location entries in your database. Please note
that these upgrades do not change the price of the packages, as long as
you have one of Support Contracts. The only thing you have to do
is get the PDT, which is included in the Max
and Super Max packages or can be purchased separately, so that you can take advantage of
this amazing upgrade.
* Time depends on number of items to scan, location of
items and speed of scan. In product testing, roughly 700 pieces of
evidence were scanned and took approximately two hours.

New Packages Now Offered
January 1, 2007
Beginning on January 1, 2007,
Progressive
Microtechnology, Inc., (PMI), introduced
three new package combinations
to suite any application. The new Basic, Max
and Super Max packages
come with a complete
setup, including all software, hardware and licensing needed to
assemble, install and start entering data that same day. Each
package is assembled with care and completeness for your department’s
possible additional hardware needs and interests. The Basic package includes our
PMI Evidence Tracker™
software and PMI Lite™ barcode
labeling software, an EZScan barcode scanner, a Zebra label printer with cable, one
Evidence Label Kit, one Asset Label Kit and one year of Technical
Service. The Max and Super Max
packages include all the same components, however, additional features
are available. For example, the Portable Data Terminal with our
PMI Audit Software and Transfer Utility™has
been added to both of those packages.
The pricing for the Basic package has increased only by a
couple of dollars, however, you in fact end up saving money with any of
the packages. The Technical Service Contract was added to all
three packages, thereby causing the pricing to
increase by slightly. However, we reduced the cost for
that service. Thus, if you purchased the standard package
that we previously offered, plus one of the service contracts, you would
have paid more than the price that the Basic package is now
sold for. Therefore,
you are getting the same fantastic program, with even more features,
cheaper than before. You can't beat that!
Please see our Pricing page for more details about each package, as well
as, the additional hardware that is available.
